Procedure

A mixture of 33-2 (1.3 g, 2.45 mmol), 10% Pd/C (650 mg) and ethanol (100 ml) was stirred under a hydrogen atmosphere (1 atm) for 18 hr. Filtration followed by concentration gave a yellow foam which was purified by flash chromatography (silica, 49:1 EtOAc/EtOH.NH3) to provide 33-3 as a pale yellow solid.
