Reaction Steps
A solution of ester 35-4 (0.46 g, 0.85 mmol) in dioxane (4 mL) and 6N HCl (8.5 mL) was heated to 60° C. overnight. Concentration yielded an orange solid. Prep. HPLC (C18, 0.1% TFA H2O/CH3CN) followed by lyophilization gave trifluoroacetate 35-5 as an orange solid.
