Using a similar procedure to step 1 of Example 1 222 mg (1 mmol) of the product of step 3 above was reacted with 137 mg (1 mmol) of 3-(2-hydroxy ethyl)phenyl amine. After purification on silica with 40% ethyl acetate:hexane elution, recovered 0.21 g (65%) of an oil. NMR (200 MHz, CDCl3) δ 8.11 (m, 2H, ArH), 7.79 (m, 2H, ArH), 7.18-7.38 (m, 6H, ArH), 7.08 (d, J=8 Hz, 1H, ArH), 4.63 (s, 2H, OCH2), 4.53 (bs, 2H, NH2), 3.78 (t, J=7 Hz, 2H, OCH2), 2.92 (t, J=7 Hz, 2H, ArCH2).
