Tributyl(1-ethoxyvinyl)tin (0.39 mL, 1.15 mmol) was added to a mixture of 4-[6-(6-bromo-8-cyclopentyl-7-oxo-7,8-dihydro-pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-2-ylamino)-pyridin-3-yl]-piperazine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (440 mg, 0.77 mmol), prepared as in Example 2, and tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(0) (88 mg, 0.077 mmol) in toluene (5 mL). The reaction mixture was heated at 110° C. for 1 hour then cooled to room temperature. The solid so formed was collected by filtration and washed with toluene, then dried to give 4-[6-(6-acetyl-8-cyclopentyl-7-oxo-7,8-dihydro-pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-2-ylamino)-pyridin-3-yl]-piperazine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester.
