(R)-1-(4-(2-formyl pyridin-4-yl)-3-methoxy-1-trityl-1H-pyrazolo[4,3-c]pyridin-6-yl)-3-(1-phenylethyl)urea (60 mg, 0.091 mmol, prepared from intermediate 51B by Scheme 3/Method A) was taken up in MeOH (2 ml) and sodium borohydride (3.79 mg, 0.100 mmol) was added. The reaction was allowed to stir at rt for 2 hours—until complete by LCMS. 1 ml of 2N HCl was added and the mixture was concentrated in vacuo. Reaction products were carrried forward without purification. MS: [M+H]+ m/z 661.
