The title compound was prepared from tert-butyl 4-hydroxynaphthalen-1-ylcarbamate (Regan, J. et al, J. Med. Chem., 2002, Vol. 45, No. 14, p. 2994) (3.9 g, 15 mmol) by the same method as described for compound (3a).
