Reaction Steps
To a solution of 3-formylbenzoic acid 20 (0.1 g, 0.819 mmol) in DMF (2 mL) were added glysine ethyl ester (0.13 g, 0.98 mmol), HATU (0.37 g, 0.98 mmol), and NMM (0.2 g, (2.04 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at RT for 16 h. The reaction was monitored by LCMS. The reaction mixture was concentrated and column chromatographed to afford ethyl 2-(3-formylbenzamido)acetate 35 (146 mg).
