A 50-mL single-neck round-bottomed flask equipped with a magnetic stirrer and a reflux condenser was charged with 3-(5-((2S,5R)-2,5-dimethyl-4-(oxetan-3-yl)piperazin-1-yl)pyridin-2-ylamino)-1-methyl-5-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)pyridin-2(1H)-one 155a (171 mg, 0.35 mmol), 4-chloro-2-(10-fluoro-1-oxo-3,4,6,7,8,9-hexahydropyrazino[1,2-a]indol-2(1H)-yl)nicotinaldehyde 134c (120 mg, 0.35 mmol), K3PO4 (146 mg, 0.69 mmol), PdCl2(dppf) (28 mg, 0.035 mmol), sodium acetate (56 mg, 0.69 mmol), water (5 drops) and acetonitrile (20 mL). After three cycles of vacuum/argon flush, the mixture was heated at 90° C. for 2 h. It was then cooled to room temperature and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure and the resulting residue was purified by silica-gel column chromatography eluting with 40/1 dichloromethane/methanol to afford 156a as a yellow solid (60 mg, 25%). MS-ESI: [M+H]+ 681.3
