A 100-mL single-neck round-bottomed flask equipped with a magnetic stirrer and a reflux condenser was charged with 301b (300 mg, 0.86 mmol), (2-{4,4-dimethyl-9-oxo-1,10-diazatricyclo[6.4.0.02,6]dodeca-2(6),7-dien-10-yl}-4-(tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)pyridin-3-yl)methyl acetate 199e (824 mg, 1.72 mmol), CH3COONa (140 mg, 1.72 mmol), PdCl2(dppf) (70 mg, 0.086 mmol), K3PO4 (360 mg, 1.72 mmol), acetonitrile (20 mL), and water (0.5 mL). After bubbling nitrogen through the resulting mixture for 20 minutes, it was heated at 100° C. under nitrogen atmosphere for 2 h. The mixture was cooled to room temperature and filtered. The filtrate was evaporated under reduced pressure and the residue was purified by silica-gel column chromatography eluting with 50:1 dichloromethane/methanol to afford 301c as white solid (125 mg, 23%).
