tert-Butyl 3-(aminomethyl)azetidine-1-carboxylate (1.10 g, 5.91 mmol) was dissolved in dichloromethane (50 mL), and thereafter, 4-nitrophenyl chloroformate (1.19 g, 5.91 mmol) and pyridine (0.47 g, 5.91 mmol) were added to the obtained solution. The obtained mixture was stirred for 16 hours. Thereafter, the reaction solution was concentrated in vacuo to obtain tert-butyl 3-((((4-nitrophenoxy)carbonyl)amino)methyl)azetidine-1-carboxylate (2.52 g, quant) in the form of a white solid.
