Reaction Steps

Acetic anhydride (30 mL) was added to a solution of compound 6 (373 mg, 1.1 mmol) in dry pyridine (30 mL). The reaction was monitored by TLC (heptane:EtOAc, 1:1) and when it was complete, it was concentrated under reduced pressure. 1H NMR in CDCl3 δ 7.54-7.51 (m, 2H, Ar), 7.35-7.30 (m, 3H, Ar), 5.46 (dd, 1H, H-4), 5.23 (t, 1H, H-2), 4.73 (d, 1H, H-1), 4.15 (d, 2H, H-6, H-6), 3.94 (dt, 1H, H-5), 3.68 (dd, 1H, H-3), 2.18 (s, 3H, OAc), 2.15 (s, 3H, OAc), 2.06 (s, 3H, OAc).
