Procedure
A mixture of the 6-[4-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)phenyl]-4,5dihydro-3(2H)-pyridazinone (38.37 g, 0.156 mole), isopropylamine (80 ml, 0.94 mole), and methanol (380 ml) was stirred under reflux for one hour, and then evaporated under reduced pressure to give 6-[4-(2-hydroxy-3-isopropylaminopropoxy)phenyl]-4,5-dihydro-3(2H)-pyridazinone (47.59 g, 100%), m.p. 108°-113° C. The hydrochloride, crystallised from a mixture of 2-propanol, ethanol and ether, had m.p. 195°-200° C.
