The title compound (0.03 g) was prepared from 1-benzyl-3-(3-chloro-4-fluoro-phenyl)-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1H-pyrrolo[3,2-c]pyridine (Example 2) and paraformaldehyde as in Example 35. The product was then dissolved in 1/1 EtOAc/CH2Cl2 and treated with 0.03 g (0.15 mmol) of citric acid to afford 0.05 g of the corresponding citrate salt. MS (ESI): exact mass calculated for C21H20ClFN2, 354.13. found, m/z 355.1 [M+H]+, 357.2 [M+H]+. 1H NMR (500 MHz, CD3OD): 7.44-7.22 (m, 1H), 7.34 (t, J=7.7 Hz, 2H), 7.30-7.26 (m, 2H), 7.22 (t, J=9.1 Hz, 1H), 7.19-7.13 (m, 3H), 5.14 (s, 2H), 4.36 (s, 2H), 3.50 (t, J=5.8 Hz, 2H), 2.96 (s, 3H), 2.89 (t, J=5.8, 2H), 2.82-2.71 (m, 4H).
