Reaction Steps

A mixture of Intermediate 2 (37.5 g, 105.9 mmol), NBS (19.4 g, 105.9 mmol) and AIBN (0.45 g, 2.8 mmol) in carbon tetrachloride (500 mL) was refluxed for 4 h. The mixture was cooled, concentrated and purified over silica gel eluting with EtOAc to give the title compound contaminated with starting material and dibrominated side-product as amber oil (41.0 g). LCMS (M+H) calcd for C13H14F4N2O3SBr: 433.97; found: 433.01.
