Reaction Steps

To a stirred solution of [1-(oxan-2-yl)-4-{1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridin-4-yl}-1H-pyrazol-3-yl]methanol (5.5 g, 18.46 mmol) in dichloromethane (40 mL) was added the Dess-Martin reagent (11.7 g, 27.68 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for three hours. When TLC showed completion of reaction, it was quenched with aqueous NaHCO3 (saturated, 100 mL) and extracted with ethyl acetate.
