To a solution of 5-(hydroxy(4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)methyl)-1-methyl-3-(3-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yloxy)propyl)-6-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenoxy)pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione (200 mg, crude) in HCOOH (5 mL) was added Zn dust (100 mg, 1.54 mmol). The reaction was heated at 100° C. for 1 h, cooled to RT and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated to give 3-(1-methyl-2,4-dioxo-5-(4-(trifluoromethyl)benzyl)-6-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenoxy)-1,2-dihydro pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-3(4H)-yl)propyl formate (150 mg, 58.9 yield) as an oil. LCMS: MH+ 582 and TR=1.746 min. Used without further purification.
