To a solution of 5-(1-hydroxy-3-methylbutyl)-6-(2-isopropylphenyl)-1-methyl-3-(3-((tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)oxy)propyl)pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione (30 mg, 0.057 mmol) in HCOOH (2 mL) was added Zn dust (18.7 mg, 0.285 mmol). The reaction was heated at 50° C. for 2 h, cooled to RT and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated and dried to give 3-(5-isopentyl-6-(2-isopropylphenyl)-1-methyl-2,4-dioxo-1,2-dihydropyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-3(4H)-yl)propyl formate (15 mg, 57.9% yield) as a solid. LCMS: MH+ 452 and TR=2.286 min. Used without further purification.
