To a solution of 3-(3-((tert-butyldimethylsilyl)oxy)propyl)-5-((4-chlorophenyl) (hydroxy)methyl)-6-(2-isopropylphenyl)-1-methylpyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione (See Compound 20, step 6, 50 mg, 0.086 mmol) in HCOOH (5 mL) was added Zn dust (56.6 mg, 0.86 mmol). The reaction was heated at 100° C. for 3 h, cooled to RT and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated and dried to give 3-(5-(4-chlorobenzyl)-6-(2-isopropylphenyl)-1-methyl-2,4-dioxo-1,2-dihydropyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-3(4H)-yl)propyl formate (20 mg, 48.0% yield) as a brown oil. LCMS: [MH+—OH] 506 and TR=2.062 min. Used without further purification.
