To a solution of 5-(1-hydroxy-3-methylbutyl)-1-methyl-3-(3-((tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)oxy) propyl)-6-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenoxy)pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione (60 mg, 0.106 mmol) in HCOOH (5 mL) was added Zn dust (34.7 mg, 0.53 mmol). The reaction was heated at 50° C. for 2 h, cooled to RT and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated and dried to give 3-(5-isopentyl-1-methyl-2,4-dioxo-6-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenoxy)-1,2-dihydropyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidin-3(4H)-yl)propyl formate (30 mg, 57.3% yield) as a solid. LCMS: MH+ 494 and TR=2.193 min.
