To a solution of Example 239b (5.0 g, 15.6 mmol) in DMF (50 mL) was added K2CO3 (4.3 g, 17.0 mmol) and 4-aminothiophenol (1.9 g, 8.5 mmol). The mixture was heated at 65° C. for 16 h. The reaction was cooled and poured into water. The aqueous phase was extracted with ethyl acetate (2×). The combined organic phases were washed with water, brine, and dried over sodium sulfate, filtered and concentrated under vacuum giving the title compound. The residue was purified by silica gel chromatography eluting with hexanes/ethyl acetate/methanol (50:40:10) to give the desired product (3.4 g, 53%).
