Reaction Steps
The product of Example 147B (374 mg, 0.723 mmol), iron powder (248 mg, 4.45 mmol), and ammonium chloride (253 mg, 4.74 mmol) in water (5 mL) and ethanol (10 mL) were heated at 80° for 45 minutes. The reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature, diluted with ethyl acetate (100 mL), and washed with water (2×50 mL) and brine (50 mL). The organic phase was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered, and concentrated by rotary evaporation under vacuum provided the title compound as a golden solid (327 mg, 93%).
