Reaction Steps

1-(2-Dimethylaminomethyl-5,7-dihydro-4H-thieno[2,3-c]pyridin-6-yl)-6-phenylhexan-1-one 70 mg was dissolved in 2 ml of methanol; hydrogen chloride in methanol was added in excess, followed by stirring. After this mixture was concentrated, diethyl ether was added; the resulting solid was filtered and washed with diethyl ether to yield the desired product.
