This compound was synthesized from 11-(2-thienyl)-10-undecenoic acid (800 mg, 3 mmol) by a hydrogenation reaction using Pd/C (80 mg). Crystallization (petroleum ether) afforded the product (0.73 g, 91%) as white crystals (mp 41-42° C.): IR: 3450-2500, 1715 cm-1 ; 1H-NMR: 1.30 (m, 12 H), 1.63 (m, 4 H), 2.32 (t, 2 H), 2.80 (t, 2 H), 6.78 (d, 1 H), 6.90 (t, 1 H), 7.10 (d, 1 H), 9.80 (bs, 1 H). Anal. Calcd. for C15H24O2S: C, 67.12, H, 9.01%; Found: C, 67.55, H, 8.89%.
