Reaction Steps
A mixture of 7.66 g of 4-aminoveratrole, 8.49 g of ethyl ethoxymethylenecyanoacetate, and 20 ml of toluene was heated at 100° C. for 90 min. The toluene was evaporated to give a solid, mp 150-155° C.
