PROCEDURE

A mixture of 0.05 g (0.118 mmol) N-[4[(3-chloro-4-fluorophenyl)amino]-3-cyano-6-quinolinyl]-4-dimethylamino-2-butynamide and 6 mg of Lindlar catalyst in 10 mL of methanol was hydrogenated at room temperature overnight. The mixture was filtered through a pad of Celite. After the solvent was removed, the residue was purified by thin-layer chromatography eluted with 30% methanol in ethyl acetate. The product was dried to give 0.018 g (36%) pale yellow solid; HRMS m/z 423.1270 (M+.).
