Procedure

The product from step B (1.5 g.) was dissolved in 40 ml. of water and treated with phosgene as described in Example 1, Step C, to provide 3-(2-fluorophenyl)-1,3-dihydroimidazo[ 4,5-b] pyridin-2-one, m.p. 199°-200° C.
