Reaction of dimethylcyanodithioimidocarbonate with 2-[(2-aminoethyl)thiomethyl]thiazole by the method described in Example 3(d) gave N-cyano-N'-[2-(2-thiazolylmethylthio)ethyl]-S-methylisothiourea. Fusion of this compound (2.15 g) with 4-methyl-5-((2-aminoethyl)thiomethyl)imidazole (2.02 g) on the steam bath for 6 hours, followed by chromatograhic purification on a column of silica gel with ethyl acetate/isopropyl alcohol (5:1) as eluant afforded the title compound.
