Reaction Steps
The title compound of Example 1 (500 mg) was heated at reflux for 24 hours with 230 mg of lithium hydroxide monohydrate. The reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature, then added to 20 ml of 1N HCl with stirring, followed by the addition of 10 ml of water and 10 ml of ethyl acetate. The mixture was filtered and the solid recrystallized from dimethylformamide to give the title compound, m.p. ca. 170° C. ##STR12##
