Reaction Steps
The compound from step 40a (0.123 g, 0.44 mmol) was treated with saturated ethanolic HCl (5 mL) for 18 hr. The volatiles were removed in vacuo, and the dihydiochloride was washed with Et2O (3×20 mL), evaporated to dryness and recrystallized (EtOHIEt2O) to yield the title compound (0.074 g, 63%) as a white solid. mp 141-144° C.
