A solution of ester 23-5 (200 mg, 0.5774 mmole), 1N NaOH (600 μl, 0.600 mmole) and CH3OH was stirred at ambient temperature for 1.5 h. The solution was concentrated. The residue was dissolved in 1N HCl (600 μl) and then the solution was concentrated. The residue was dissolved in CHCl3, filtered and concentrated to give the carboxylic acid 23-6 (110 mg) as a white solid.
