Reaction Steps
Alternatively, 4 g of 4-(2-imidazolinyl)aminobenzoic acid hydrochloride, 4.67 g of 6-amidino-2-naphthol methanesulfonate and 0.2 g of DMAP were dissolved in 60 ml of anhydrous pyridine, 5.13 g of DCC was added to the solution and then the reaction mixture was treated as described above, via a carbonate salt, to yield 2.35 g of 6-amidino-2-naphthyl 4-(2-imidazolinyl)amino-benzoate dihydrochloride.
