Reaction Steps

30 mg of sodium was dissolved in 10 ml of dry ethanol. Then 3-(5-cyclopropyl-1,2,4-oxadiazol-3-yl)-4,5-dihydro-4-methyl-5-oxo-6-chloro-imidazo(1,5-a)quinazoline (0.2 g, 0.5 mmol) was added and the resulting mixture was refluxed for 7 hours. The reaction mixture was evaporated. Glacial acetic acid and water was added to the residue whereupon the title compound was isolated by filtration. M.p. 195°-205° C.
