A mixture of 1.174 g of 2,3-epoxy-2,3-dihydro-1,4-naphthoquinone, 1.58 g of ethyl-N-piperazinocarboxylate and 100 ml of absolute ethanol was stirred for 24 hours, then evaporated. The residue was chromatographed on silica gel, eluting with 5% methanol in chloroform, giving 1.0 g of the desired product,, mp 115-118°C.
