Reaction Steps
To 120 mg of 3,8,13,17-tetramethyl-2,18-bis(3-bromopropyl)-21H,23H-porphin, 2 ml of pyridine is added, followed by refluxing for 5 hours. The precipitated crystals are recovered by filtration, washed with 3 ml of pyridine and dried, whereby 140 mg (yield 92.8%) of brownish black desired compound is obtained.
