Reaction Steps
A mixture of EXAMPLE 215B (1.4 g), N-bromosuccinimide (0.671 g), and benzoyl peroxide (0.044 g) in CCl4 (20 mL) was heated under reflux for 4 hours. After cooling, the solid was filtered off. The filtrate was then concentrated. The residue was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel eluting 1:20 ethyl acetate/hexane to give the title compound.
