6-(2-(2-(4-Chlorothiazol-2-yl)-2-oxoethoxy)ethyl)-1,3-dimethyl-5-phenyl-1H-pyrrolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine-2,4(3H,6H)-dione (540 mg, 1.177 mmol) was dissolved in MeOH (20 mL) and sodium borohydride (134 mg, 3.53 mmol) was added. The mixture was stirred at room temp. for 25 minutes and the reaction was quenched with sat. NaHCO3(aq) and extracted with chloroform (3×). The combined organic extracts were passed through a hydrophobic frit and evaporated under vacuum to afford the title compound;
