Into a 50-mL round bottom flask, was placed a solution of N-(3-(trifluoromethyl)benzyl)-2-(5-fluoro-2-nitrophenyl)isonicotinamide 14d (200 mg, 0.48 mmol, 1.00 equiv) in methanol (5 mL). The solution was treated with Pd/C (0.2 g), and stirred under an atmosphere of hydrogen for 2 h at room temperature. The reaction progress was monitored by LCMS. The solids were filtered out. The resulting mixture was concentrated under vacuum to yield 200 mg of crude product as a yellow oil.
