Reaction Steps
Ethyl 2-(methylthio)-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyrimidine-5-carboxylate (60 mg, 0.233 mmol) was added to 1,1′-biphenyl-4-amine (79 mg, 0.467 mmol) dissolved in ethanol. The solution was heated in an oil bath to 80° C., while stirring, in reflux, for 72 hours. The sample was filtered and dried. 1H-NMR confirmed the structure (31 mg, 40% yield).
