Ethyl 2-(methylthio)-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyrimidine-5-carboxylate (200 mg, 0.934 mmol) was added to 4-(piperidin-1-yl)aniline (158 mg, 0.934 mmol) dissolved in ethanol. The solution was heated in an oil bath to 80° C., while stiffing, in reflux, for 72 hours. The sample was filtered and dried. 1H-NMR confirmed the product (HGN-0034) (15 mg, 0.447 mmol).
