Procedure
The mixture of ethyl 2-(methylthio)-6-oxo-1,6-dihyropyrimidine-5-carboxylate (358 mg, 1.671 mmol) and 1H-indazol-5-amine (222 mg, 1.671 mmol) were dissolved in 10 mL of ethanol and heated at 80° C. overnight. After heating, the solution was run on thin layer chromatography and filtered. The precipitate was collected and stored. 1H-NMR confirmed the product (HGN-0042) (441 mg, 88% yield).
