A solution of 1-methyl-7-(trifluoromethyl)-6H-pyrrolo[2,3-e][1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyridine (0.020 g, 0.083 mmol, from Step 4) in DMF (0.5 mL) was treated with Cs2CO3 (0.054 g, 0.17 mmol) and benzyl bromide (0.010 mL, 0.084 mmol, Aldrich). After stirring overnight, the reaction was diluted with water and MeOH. The product was purified by preparative HPLC-MS (Waters SunFire C18, eluting with a gradient of MeCN/H2O containing 0.1% TFA). Yield: (6 mg, 12%).
