The product obtained in Step 3 (6.0 g, 33.9 mmol) was dissolved in AcOH (100 mL), then HNO3 (1.9 mL, 47.5 mmol) was added. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 h, then poured into ice-water. The water layer was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was dried, concentrated, purified by column chromatography to obtain a product (7.0 g, 93.3%).
