Procedure
To a solution of 2-{[(5-amino-2-chlorophenyl)methyl]sulfanyl}-6-methylpyrimidin-4-ol (45 mg, 0.16 mmol) in MeOH (2 mL) was added 4 M HCl/dioxane (1 mL, 4.0 mmol). The mixture was evaporated and dried in vacuo, affording the title compound (50 mg, 98% yield); 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6): δ 2.23 (s, 3H), 4.50 (s, 2H), 6.01 (s, 1H), 7.19 (d, 1H, J=7.4 Hz), 7.50 (m, 2H); M+282.
