To a solution of 40i (0.110 g, 0.73 mmoL) in 8 mL anhydrous CH2Cl2 was added Dess-Martin reagent (0.274 g, 0.645 mmol). The mixture was allowed to stir for 30 min and quenched with sat. Na2S2O3 solution, extracted with ethyl acetate and dried with MgSO4. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure to yield a crude product, which was purified by column chromatography to give pure compound 1i (70.1%). 1H NMR (CDCl3) δ 7.87-7.85 (m, 2H), 7.72 (s, 2H), 7.53-7.49 (m, 3H), 7.05 (s, 1H), 7.82 (d, 1H, J=1.5 Hz), 3.97 (s, 3H), 3.96 (s, 6H); MS (ESI) m/z 362.1 (M+H)+.
