A mixture of tert-butyl (3R,4R)-3-fluoro-4-(4-nitro-2-(trifluoromethyl)phenoxy)piperidine-1-carboxylate (1.2 g, 1.0 eq, 2.9 mmol) and Pd—C (10%, 0.3 g) in EtOH (50 mL) was hydrogenated at 30 psi for 1 hour. The mixture was filtered through celite and the filter cake washed with EtOH (2×10 mL). The filtrate was concentrated under vacuum to give the desired product in 82% yield. This product was taken to next step with out further purification.
