2-Methyl-9-nitro-5H-spiro[benzo[b][1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-d][1,4]oxazepine-4,2′-oxiran]-1(2H)-one (250 mg) and 10% Pd—C were suspended in methanol (10 mL). The reaction mixture was shaken at room temperature under H2 atmosphere (30 psi) for one hour. The catalyst was filtered off over celite and washed with methanol (5×50 mL). The filtrate was evaporated to give 9-amino-4-hydroxy-2,4-dimethyl-4,5-dihydrobenzo[b][1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-d][1,4]oxazepin-1(2H)-one (200 mg). m/z=263.12 (M+H)+.
