A mixture of 4N-(1-methoxyethyl)-2,2-dimethyl-6-nitro-2H-1,4-benzoxazin-3(4H)-one (378 mg, 1.35 mmol, 1 equiv.) in 10 mL of MeOH in the presence of 38 mg of Pd/C was hydrogenated at room temperature for 3 h. The reaction mixture was then filtered through a pad of celite and the filtrate was concentrated to give the product in quantitative yield.
