Procedure
A mixture of Example 2B (0.123 g, 0.408 mmol), 2,4-difluorophenol (0.069 g, 0.531 mmol) and cesium carbonate (0.173 g, 0.531 mmol) in dimethylsulfoxide (5 mL) was heated at 110° C. for 1 hour. After cooling, the reaction mixture was partitioned between water and ethyl acetate. The aqueous layer was extracted three times with ethyl acetate. The combined organic layers were washed with saturated aqueous sodium chloride, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, filtered, and concentrated. The crude product was purified by flash chromatography (silica gel, 20-50% ethyl acetate in hexanes) to provide 0.16 g (95%) of the title compound.
