To a solution of 1-bromo-2,4-difluoro-5-nitrobenzene (0.3 g, 1.26 mmol) and cesium carbonate (0.86 g, 2.65 mmol) in DMSO (6.3 mL) was added dropwise 2,4-difluorophenol (0.27 g, 2.10 mmol). The mix was stirred for 60 minutes at ambient temperature and partitioned between ethyl acetate and water, adjusting the pH to 6 with HCl. The organic layer was washed with water, saturated aqueous sodium chloride, dried (MgSO4), filtered, and concentrated to afford the title compound (0.578 g, 100%).
