Procedure

1M PBr3 in DCM (1.80 mL, 1.80 mmol) was added 3-(1-hydroxyethyl)-4-(6-methoxypyridin-3-yl)-1H-isochromen-1-one (intermediate B17, 225 mg, 0.76 mmol) in DCM (9 ml) at RT. The reaction mixture was straightforward purified on Biotage SNAP 25 g silica cartridge with a gradient of hexane and EtOAc to give the title compound (105 mg, 38.5%).
